Dostana comes out as the latest trailblazer from Karan Johar's 'Dharma' Camp. A complete laugh riot, Dostana stands out as one of the most outstanding film creations in the recent times owing to its refined display of a gay relationship between the two chief protagonists of the film played by John and Abhishek. Really, this so called morphed gay relationship to seize 'Neha' (Priyanka Chopra) is definitely the zenith point of this 70mm silver screen venture by debutant Tarun Mansukhani.
The film is about two good-for-nothing guys, John and Abhishek who are looking for a decent accommodation in the beautiful city of Miami before coming vis-a-vis with Neha (Priyanka Chopra), a sizzling siren from the same city. Their immediate demand of accommodation and Neha's hot bod plus lovely nature, sees them falling for her in no time. But there is a glitch, for Neha, the two of them are a couple (gay couple) and she doesn't have the slightest idea about what they are up to. On the other hand, both John and Abhishek will not stop at anything to woo her, whether be it kissing each other or defaming the other one in the eyes of their cutie-pie. But every time they are about to succeed in their individual ventures either the other participant of the race or their earlier orchestrated pretension overcomes reality and ruins the game. This goes on and converges into a climax that will leave the laughing audience, completely stumped.
Priyanka Chopra as Neha has done a decent job and is looking completely amazing. After going through a string of flops in 'God Tussi Great Ho', 'Chamku' and 'LoveStory 2050', Priyanka has finally managed to hit the right chord with 'Dostana'. Her Bo Derek act in the golden single piece swimsuit, is also something that the people should watch out for. Talking about the leading duo (Yes, they are indeed) both Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham after Dostana can finally call them as actors. Both of the handsome hunks have played their roles to perfection shadowing the good works of other actors in Boman Irani and Kirron Kher, who have done an outstanding job thereby eliminating the chances of any loose ends, if any. The surprise package, Bobby Deol, is someone who arrives at the right time, providing the substantial pace to the film just at the time when it needed a booster.
If 'Dostana' shapes out well then it is all because of the director Tarun Mansukhani, who as a scriptwriter has created a masterpiece for sure. He manages to bring out the essence of his script without demonising the gay fraternity, which unfortunately many film in the past and recent past have done. Through a light hearted medium he definitely for sure has done an exemplary job. Karan Johar, as a producer needs a special pat on his back for exemplifying daring by vesting his confidence in a script that could well, have ignited a controversy or could have offended someone's sentiments easily. The music works as a perfect catalyst, specially the 'desi girl' and Shilpa shetty's 'Shut and bounce'. Overall, 'Dostana' is definitely a must watch for everyone.
