Two Lovers : Moving Drama With Praiseworthy Performance

I spent my weekend watching the movie Two Lovers and let me tell you very frankly, this movie has won my heart. This is a captivating, mindful, excellently made film in which all the cast and crew have acted superbly. This film demands a mature audience who can understand the intricacies of this film, amazingly portrait by the director, James Gray. The powerful yet simple story has left a huge impact on me.

The story revolves around the Leonard (Joaquin Phoenix) who is a handsome but troubled young man in his early 30s. He moves back into his family home after going through a recent unpleasant broken engagement and suicide attempt. His family is highly concerned about his current mental state along with his fragile nature. Under the care of his parents, two women Michelle and Sandra come into the life of Leonard. Sandra is a lovely lady who is a daughter of a business man, trying to take over Leonard's dry-cleaning business while Michelle is his neighbour across the courtyard and she is an exotic enticing blond. Leonard easily becomes infatuated towards Michelle and soon he becomes smitten with the gorgeous , fun loving blond. The film takes a new turn when it was found that Michelle has an affair with a married man. The movie becomes absolutely stunning when the director amazingly depicts the dilemma of Leonard of choosing one lady. He was forced to make an impossible decision between the two ladies in his life.

Joaquin Phoenix has acted excellently in this film. He was in perfect sync with the character he played. His performance was at times funny, and at times very profound. He has meticulously portrayed all the moods and the conflicting nature has been superbly displayed by him. Gwyneth Paltrow has done justification with the role of Michelle. She was looking very attractive and beautiful. Vinessa Shaw has acted perfectly and she was able to deliver what is needed for the character of Sandra. The direction of this movie has done a good job. The viewers are able to flow with the movie and at no time will you feel unattached. All the other characters have given their best. Moni Moshonov and Isabella Rossellini as Leonard's parents are looking great in the film.

Overall, it is a entertaining movie having a great cast and stunning performance from all and one. So, if you are feeling bewitched by this drama then, don't waste time to watch this ultimate drama.
