Chowrasta, the Bollywood new release seems to be turned out as a sensible movie. The film is composed with four different tales that run parallel to each other. Nandna (Roopa Ganguly) is the fading actress of the Bollywood in the movie. She soon realizes that she is living on borrowed time and further desperately starts searching for the partner who can take care of her 12 year old son. Rita (Aparajita) and Sunny ( Naved Aslam) have escaped and married secretly and later, they realizes on their honeymoon that their life together is not a bed of roses. Jimmy (victor) is a planter in Darjeeling who is still not able to recovered from his wife's death and is getting more into the condition of remoteness. Kenny (Atul kulkarni) played the role of the terrorist and is trying to escape from the police who sooner realizes that what all he is doing is totally useless and no one cares weather he remains alive or dead.
All the characters are in Darjeeling seeking for something. What happens when their paths cross and what they end up achieving which leads to a major change in their lives forms the rest of the film. What make this film interesting are the characterizations, of especially those of Victor Bannerjee, Roopa Ganguly and Atul Kulkarni. It further helps that these actors take the film to a higher level with their good acting skills. Rest all actors also have done a laudable job. The story line of the film is not so complicated as it appears. Cinematographer Indraneel Mukherjee has done the creditable job by capturing the beautiful mountains of the Darjeeling.
This is just the 90 mins melodrama directed by Anjan Dutta and is rated as decent movie with an average ranking of three stars. Not bad!!!!!
After the long wait there is the element known as sensible found in chowrasta in comparison to those loud thrillers and entertainers and we expect the same from the upcoming Bollywood movies. Anjana has given the shape of a slow movie to it, Viewers will surely appreciate her efforts.
