Shutter Island

Shutter Island is one of the many upcoming Hollywood movies ready to hit theaters this year. It is mystery film directed by Martin Scorsese and written by Laeta Kalogridis and Dennis Lehane. The cast of the film is quite impressive- Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer, Michelle Williams, Patricia Clarkston among others. The story of this film is set way back in 1954 and shows Marshall Teddy Daniels played by Leonardo Caprio who has been assigned the task of solving the case of missing murderers who escaped from a hospital and they hid on Shutter Island. Though Teddy is hell bent on cracking the case, but the foul play by the hospital staff becomes a hurdle in his way. There is a hurricane and more criminals escape adding to the confusion. It is a very riveting story and will keep viewers hooked to their seats .

This film among many Hollywood new releases has gained lot of attention before its release as it has won a nomination for ' Golden Berlin Bear' at the Berlin International Film Festival and the proud recipient in this category is Martin Scorsese. 'Shutter Island' is being awaited eagerly by movie lovers as it promises to have an excellent thrill factor which will keep the audience glued to the screens throughout the film. Also, big names in the film prove to be a major draw for audiences and the suspense which is the basic foundation of the film is treated in a different way. The film has been shot in Massachusetts, Nova Scotia and Connecticut. Crucial scenes of the hospital were shot in Medfield State Hospital in Massachusetts. The scenes which are shown to be shot on Shutter Island were actually taken on the Peddocks island.

Lets see if the film lives upto its promise of being an entertainer. The film is slated to Release on 19th February and brings back the actor- director duo Leonardo and Martin again after they did three films in the past together. The idea of the movie excited them very much and they decided to collaborate on this project too.
