Dibakar steals the show with 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye'

It is wisely said that the credentials of a Director must be ascertained only after the release of his second movie, as they have been many “one-film wonders” in the film industry already and Dibakar Banerjee clearly passes this litmus test with ease from his second offering in “ Oye Lucky Lucky Oye”.

A witty and riveting tale set in the capital of India, Delhi, 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye' once again has established the fact that a film needs actors, not the stars to excel on silver screen. 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye' is the tale of 'Lucky' (Abhay Deol) who has a fetish of stealing. Be it LCD TV, expensive car or valuables, nothing is safe from Lucky's hands. Call him 'kleptomaniac' or whatever, but Lucky surely is a genius of all sorts. The finesse and sophistication which he exemplifies while executing his stealing acts, is simply marvellous, which is why he is popularity he is a well-known figure not only among people and media but also in cops.

Rattled to the core of heart due to being treated abusively by his father (Paresh Rawal, in his first role) in his childhood years, we get to know, why Lucky took to stealing? The thirst for more does not stop and Lucky shifts his focus to expensive Mercedes and others, with the help of none other than Gogi Bhai (Paresh Rawal, in his second role of the film). Soon after reaching the brink of success in his stealing domain, Lucky retires to a more convenient life where for him lavishness is the real flavour of the life. Running a grand restaurant with the duo of Paresh Rawal (in his third role) & Archana Puran Singh, Lucky is enjoying his life to the maximum and that is all what he always desired for. What happens next, well, it is for you to find out?

After doing a lot of Online movies reviews, finally, a movie has came where the gist is not at all influenced by the morality but is driven purely by human emotions. Abhay Deol, as 'Lucky', once again proves his mettle. The charm and the coolness, he exudes while committing his acts is simply amazing. While Paresh Rawal, experimenting in his career with the three different roles in the same movie and with same face, proves that despite being a character artist, his presence can do wonders for his film. Certainly, he can give the so-called superstars, a run for their money in the acting department for sure. Other actors in Neetu Chandra and Archana Puran Singh, too have done a commendable job. But the credit of making such a fantastic film goes to none other than the captain of the ship, Dibakar Banerjee. Dibakar, who like his last outing in 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' once again manages to leave an indelible impression with his latest offering. Definitely, 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye' stands out as a masterpiece for sure.
