Romantic movies continue to rule the Box Office

Comedy movies with a tinge of romanticism, have always set the cash counters of Box office rolling for the directors and the production houses of the film, but that certainly does not mean that the romantic comedy movies are easy ways to reach super-stardom in just a single attempt.

Indian film fraternity is said to the be the master of the trade when it comes to churning out blockbusters in the zone of romantic comedy movies. Online world, which has its roots even in the most unheard parts of the world, too has been infatuated by the kind of cinematic masterpieces that the Indian film industry delivers. Not only within the national film domain, this is one concept that has a global appeal to it, which is why it manages to convince audience even after being hypothetical to some extent. Be it the cartoon movies, thriller movies, horror movies or even action flicks, romantic comedy movies certainly come out better than all of them. But why, let's figure it out!

Recently, only an year or so back, two very good romantic comedies hit the cinemas. One was Shahid, Kareena starrer 'Jab We Met' and the other one was 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects' which had Rahul Bose and the sexy siren Mallika Sherawat in the lead. Both the films did exceedingly well at the box office and did a world of goods to the sinking careers of all the above mentioned stars and established them as actors in the film industry. But this transition from stars to actors, which is a phrase that is not applicable to an actor of 'Rahul Bose' calibre, did not came so easy. The chief reason, well, that both of the aforementioned films worked at the box office, is because of a sound script, powerful acting and of course strong direction. While 'Jab We Met' saw the mad and chirpy Kareena as 'Geet' doing her antics, with a passion of eloping away from her household, Shahid quite convincingly emoted out his expressions through the mode of his silent stares and suppressed vocals.

On the other hand 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects' saw the voluptuous Mallika proposing to the commitment-phobic DJ played excellently by Rahul Bose. Both the actors did full justice to their roles and drew the crowds to cinema halls, purely on the basis of strong and simple acting quotients. However, that does not take away credit from the director and his accomplices who too did remarkable job behind the screen.

But readers keep in mind, these films excelled at the box office owing to their solid base, which earned them the title of 'great romantic comedy movies of all times'. But not every film is so lucky enough, however, even then this is one genre that defies all logic and calculations, since it touches the most raw chord of the audience, i.e., their romantic movies online side and continues to be a hot favorite subject to be explored by the directors, even as the industry is more than seventy five years old. This is quite clear after the success of 'Jaane Tu ya Jaane Naa' where the duo of Genelia and Imran Khan, profess their love for each other after going through a hilarious and serious series of events.
