Every year the Hollywood churns out a huge number of films. There are various upcoming Hollywood movies waiting to hit the the theaters. One such Hollywood new releases is 'Big Fan'. It is directed and written by Robert D Siegel. The star cast includes Patton Oswalt, Kevin Corrigan, Jonathan Hamm, Michael Rapaport, Marcia Jean Kurtz, Gino Cafarelli, Matt Servitto among others. It has been nominated for the Grand Jury prize.
The story of this Hollywood new release revolves around 35-year-old parking garage attendant Paul Aufiero who belongs from the Staten Island, claims to be is the world's biggest New York Giants fan. He spends his spare time by calling in 760 The Zone, local sports-radio station where he cheers for his favorite team. His on air rival is Eagles fan Philadelphia.
But Paul's family does not understand his love for the giants. They often reprimand him for not actually doing something substantial for his life. One night, Paul and his best friend Sal see Giants star linebacker Quantrell Bishop at a gas station in their neighborhood. They immediately decide to follow him in Manhattan, and end up at a strip club. They hang out in the background. While Paul decides to advance him there is an unexpected turn of events.
But his life falls apart when Bishop beats him up and he lands up in the hospital when he is beaten up by his favorite player and put in the hospital.
Paul’s brother, wants him to file a multi-million dollar suit. Meanwhile, the police are after Aufiero so that he files a report. But Paul decides not to do so and not harm his team in any way and does not want to do anything about the entire episode where he was brutally physically abused.
This meeting changes Paul's life forever. He enters in the world of stardom where everyone and the medias, the authorities indulge in a battle of words over Paul, Questioning his loyalty. On the other hand, the Giants are ready for a late-season showdown with the Eagles. They were ignorant that sometimes the most remorseless battles start from the playground itself. Through this film, writer-director Robert Siegel depicts the emotions of the human nature in a very powerful and a different way.
