Rann

There are many Bollywood new releases lined up to surface the box office in January 2010 and one of them is Amitabh Bachchan and Ritesh Deshmukh Starer Rann. This film is directed by Ram Gopal Verma and is based on the bitter truth behind the media functioning and is followed by how the democracy is remote controlled.

The plot of the film revolves around the life a media tycoon Harshvardhan, played by Amitabh Bachchan who owns a news channel and how he himself along with his employees is not happy with the way, politics and media are connected.

Along with Ritesh and Amitabh Bachchan this film stars Gul Panaag, Paresh Raawal and Rajat Kapoor in supporting roles. Other than an interesting and thought provoking storyline the audiences would be able to witness Ritesh Deshmukh in a complete different attire because he is playing a role of an investigative Journalist named Purab Shastri.

Rann has also been in controversies because in the earlier promos a lot of tampering with national anthem was witnessed, because of which the film got delayed but now the movie is ready for release. Looking at the promos of the film one can conclude that among all the upcoming Bollywood movies, slated to release in January 2010, watching this film would be sensible choice.
